Our Story
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
What began as a friendship through work turned into a love story, a family business, and a place where countless memories are made.
Carl, a lifelong Grayson County resident, and Wanda, who grew up in Howevalley, met through work and quickly discovered they shared more than a friendship. Wanda’s heart has always been rooted in the community, and love eventually brought Carl home to the place she cherished most.
When the opportunity arose to purchase this property, they knew they had found something special. In fact, they often said that if they ever opened a wedding venue, it would only be in Glendale. With a vision for preserving the area’s charm while creating a welcoming gathering place, they set out to make that dream a reality.
This venue has truly been a labor of love. Carl personally renovated the historic home, carefully preserving its rustic character while updating it with modern amenities. Their son, Alan, played a key role in developing the barn and pond areas, while their daughter, Maria, brought her creative touch to the décor and event spaces. Every corner of the property reflects the dedication, hard work, and heart of the entire family.
In 2020, life took an unexpected turn when Carl was diagnosed with colon cancer. The experience prompted the family to sell their farm and move to the venue temporarily—or so they thought. What started as a temporary arrangement eventually became home. They built an apartment on the back of the property and continue to live on-site, allowing them to constantly invest in and care for the venue they love.
Their mission has always been bigger than hosting events. They are passionate about strengthening the community, creating opportunities for people to gather, and leaving the property—and the community—better than they found it.
Today, the venue hosts much more than weddings. From bridal showers and baby showers to corporate gatherings, community events, food truck nights, and celebrations of all kinds, it serves as a place where people come together to create meaningful memories.
As a family-owned and operated venue, we are honored to share this special place with you and look forward to being part of your story.
